Hands On Electrical was founded in 2010 by Simon Hands, a fully qualified electrician with a passion for quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Simon’s vision was to create a company that put people first, offering reliable, trustworthy service to the local community.

Over the years, the Hands On Electrical team has grown, but our commitment to being a family-run business remains strong. We’ve proudly served hundreds of Gloucestershire homeowners and businesses, establishing ourselves as experts in solar PV, Air2Air heat pumps, EV charging, and all aspects of domestic electrical work.

In 2023, Cheryl Hands officially joined the company, bringing her organisational expertise and friendly approach as our Office Manager. Together, Simon and Cheryl lead a team of dedicated professionals who share their passion for delivering the highest standards of service.

Founder & Director

Simon is a fully qualified electrician with over 16 years of experience. He’s passionate about renewable energy and loves helping customers make their homes more sustainable. His technical knowledge is second to none so you can be sure you are in safe hands.
When he’s not on the job, you’ll find him enjoying quality time with his family.

Cheryl keeps the Hands On Electrical office running smoothly, ensuring our customers receive the best possible service. With her friendly demeanour and attention to detail, she’ll keep your project on track and is always ready to answer any questions you may have about the process.

Sean

Electrician

Sean has been with the company since 2015 and is fantastic at what he does. He qualified in 2018 and since then has gone from strength to strength. His commitment to customer service and maintaining high standards of work is paramount to his work ethos and he does it all while raising a young family of his own.

Adam

Electrician

In keeping with the family run business, Adam is Simon’s Dad. He joined the company in 2021 and has been indispensable with the support he has provided for the team.

Kyle

Electrician

Kyle started working with Hands On Electrical in 2020 as an apprentice. He qualified in 2023 and is now a key member of the team. His leading strength is his technical prowess and you will often find him taking on the more challenging inverter installations.

Charlie

Apprentice

Charlie joined the Hands On Electrical team in 2022 and is currently working through his apprenticeship to qualify fully. He is wonderful with our customers and is a lovely person all around. He has recently become a dad himself, so now the hard work really begins.

Aaron

Apprentice

Our most recent addition to the team. Aaron joined Hands On Electrical in 2024 and is in the process of completing his apprenticeship. He has a strong work ethic and we are confident he will prove himself as an integral part of the team in no time.
